Evaluation

How does your prelim represent certain social groups?
My prelim shows the social group of school children to be casually dressed and happy people. In some of the pictures the are shown laughing and talking showing that they are friendly and down to earth, whereas in other photo's they are shown working hard and focusing on work, this shows that the pupils of this college are friendly young people who are approachable, at the same time as being sensible and willing to work.

Who would be the intended audience for your product?
The intended audience of my magazine is students and parents. A lot of the content from the magazine is aimed at pupils who will be joining the school, so they can learn more about it like timetables etc. as well as students who are going in to 6th form and are unsure of what subjects to take. It is aimed at the parents of students as it gives contact information if there are any queries as well as giving reviews and news on recent drama and sport happenings, which parents of particpating students will be interested in looking at.

How did you attract/address your audience?
I adressed my audience by asking rhetorical questions on the front cover that may relate to them, such as 'what should I pick at A level?' this means students that are unsure of subjects will want to look at this section of the magazine to help. I also put the questions of 'Ks4? Post-16? Post-18?' This inviting students of each of these 3 categories to read the magazine, and showing that it is suitable for them. The inclusion of 'all you need to survive at Lutterworth college' suggests that anyone struggling fitting in at the college, or parents who have queries, will be able to get the information they need to help by reading this magazine.

What have you learnt about technologies from the proccess of constrcuting this product?
When constructing this product I learnt how to properly light a photo, without having too much shadow on one side of the face, this was hard to recreate in the photo's I took as I didn't have a mirror/reflector to even out the shadow. I learnt how to crop a photo of someone so that I can take their body and put it onto a blank white background, using photoshop as seen on my magazine cover.
